Netflix Party
Netflix have an extension on Google Chrome that allows you to watch with your friends online.
It synchronises video playback and adds a group chat to your favorite shows and movies.
So if you're stuck for something to do this weekend, why not host a virtual movie night?
The extension allows you to start, stop and pause your chosen movie or TV show at the same time as your friends.
Yes you could use an app that synchronises your screen with others however, this extension is way less hassle.
And what's even better is that it's free!
What you need
Everybody involved must have their own Netflix login and Google Chrome.
Installation
Follow the three simple steps below:
- You're going to need to install the extension from here.
- Once you are redirected to the Chrome Web Store, click, 'Add to Chrome,' to finish installing Netflix Party.
- A pop up box should show. Click, 'Add Extension,' - You should now see an NP icon in your browser toolbar.
Getting started
It's time to get your movie night started. Follow the below steps:
- Open Netflix and choose the agreed show or movie.
- Click on the red, 'NP,' icon located next to the address bar.
- Then click, 'Start Party,' and share the party URL to invite friends.
- To join a party click on the party URL, which will redirect to Netflix's website.
- Then click on the, 'NP,' button next to the address bar, and you should automatically join the party.
