Neve Campbell returns for Scream 5
Neve Campbell has confirmed she's set to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in Scream 5.
She shared the news on Instagram, 'Hello again, Sidney…'
Radio Silence, the team behind the upcoming movie, have released a statement.
As quoted by Deadline, they said, 'We’re pinching ourselves! It’s hard to express how much the character Sidney Prescott shaped our love of movies and to have the chance to work with Neve is truly a dream come true.'
'It just wouldn’t be a Scream movie without Neve and we’re so excited and honored to join her in Woodsboro.'
While Neve said, 'After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the Scream franchise.'
'I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.'
The cast
Neve isn't the only original cast member reprising a role.
David Arquette and Courteney Cox are also set to return as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers.

They'll be joined by newcomers Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega and the son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, Jack Quaid.
Barrera is best known for her role in the TV series Vida.
While Ortega played Ellie in YOU season two, and Quaid played Hughie in The Boys.
Scream 5 drops January 14th 2022.
