We know you already know, but there are season four spoilers coming... just a heads up.
The fourth installment was cut short last year after the global pandemic halted production.
For that reason, the new season will begin with the final episodes that never aired.

Betty and Archie
One of the most talked about storylines of season four was Betty and Archie's romance.
This came as a massive shock considering Betty admitted her feelings for Archie in season one, but nothing came of it.
He fell in love with Veronica and she went on to date Jughead.

Now, years later, the childhood friends are starting to fall for each other.
The pair decided to put an end to whatever they're feeling for the sake of their respective relationships.
However, there's no denying sparks fly whenever they're together.

Mr. Honey
The Riverdale High students really didn't like their principal, Mr. Honey.
Among other things, he banned prom, refused to publish Betty's yearbook and wouldn't let Archie join his friends at graduation.
Cheryl however, wasn't going out without a fight.

She announced prom would be going ahead with the help of the students' parents.
As a result, Mr. Honey set up an elaborate plan to stop it from happening.
He filmed a video from inside the school, trying to make it look like it was filmed by the person sending creepy video tapes across town.

Once people thought the school was in danger, prom would definitely be shut down.
Unfortunately, his plan failed as Betty was onto him.
She caught him out on it, and he ended up packing his things, and leaving for Stonewall Prep.

Jughead's story
Meanwhile, Jughead focused his time on writing an entry paper for the University of Iowa.
He used a made up plan Betty suggested in the season finale to get rid of Mr. Honey.
The writer titled his fictional story, Killing Mr. Honey.

The story was originally written using the names of people in Riverdale.
It followed the students pulling a prank on Mr. Honey.
However, it took a turn for the worst and ended with the principal's death.

Jughead rushed to change the ending after reading an amazing recommendation Mr. Honey wrote on behalf of him to the university.
The rewritten version ended with the students saving Mr. Honey.
Here's where things get a bit weird - during the finale, Jughead and Betty went to the Lodge's cabin.

It's after they recognised it in one of the latest video tapes sent to them.
When they arrived, they found another tape waiting for them.
In the video, people wearing masks made to look like them and their friends, stab a man made to look like Mr. Honey.
