It follows Ruby Rose's departure from the show earlier this year.

Rose played the role of Kate Kane AKA Batwoman for the entire first season.
However, she announced her departure shortly after it was revealed that the show had been renewed for a second season.
It's still unclear why she made the decision to leave.
Ryan Wilder
Instead of recasting Kate, they've decided to create a brand new lead character named Ryan Wilder.
Show-runner Caroline Dries confirmed the news at the ATX Television Festival, "I'm inventing a whole new character."
Dries explained, "In [Wilder's] past, she was inspired by Batwoman."

Vanessa Morgan
According to Cinema Spot, they're eyeing up Morgan to play Wilder.
It's believed she's secured an audition and will also be doing a screen test, presumably with other members of the cast.
Whether she lands the gig or not, is a whole other story - but she is in the running!
This comes shortly after the actress hit out at Riverdale, saying she's tired of black people, 'being used as sidekick non dimensional characters to [their] white leads.'
