The longest running American sitcom is going no where.
The Simpsons has been renewed for two more seasons.
The news was announced on the show's Twitter account last night.
Season 31 and 32 will see the total number of The Simpsons episodes reach 731.

However, our favourite family are no where near the title of longest-running TV series in US history.
Meet The Press, a Sunday morning current affairs show, holds the title.
It's currently on season 70, but Homer has warned the show to 'watch your back'. It looks like he has plans to over take them in the future!
How the show will eventually end
Although there's no final air date for The Simpsons just yet, show runner Al Jean has ideas for how the story should end.
He previously tweeted plans to have the final episode loop into the first.
@EverySimpsons My idea for last episode -- ends w/arrival at Xmas pageant (beginning of first episode). Whole series a continuous loop...

Here's a look at that Christmas pageant scene from the very first episode. It initially aired on 17th December 1989.
Long, live The Simpsons!
