The Haunting Of Sharon Tate
The trailer for The Haunting Of Sharon Tate starring Hilary Duff is out.
The movie is based on 'one of the most horrifying murders in history.'
Members of The Manson family stabbed Tate to death in LA in August 1969.
The American actress and model was nine months pregnant at the time.
The Murders
On the evening of her death Tate was out with friends Jay Sebring, Wojciech Frykowski and Abigail Folger and her favourite restaurant.
They returned home around 10:30pm and by midnight all four were dead, as well as Tate's unborn son posthumously named Paul Richard Polanski.
A houskeeping discovered their bodies the next morning, including that of a fifth victim Steven Parent.
Police questioned the property's caretaker and Tate's movie director husband Roman Polanski in relation to the murders.
However, detectives linked members of the Manson 'Family' to the killings when they were arrested for separate charges in September 1969
The Movie
The Haunting Of Sharon Tate also stars Mean Girls' Jonathan Bennett who plays Jay Sebring and covers the last days of Tate's life.
Duff will not be the only person to play Tate this year.
Margot Robbie will also star as the actress in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood coming in August.
Controversy
Tate's sister Debra spoke to People about both releases.
She called the films 'tasteless' and slammed the timing of both movies saying, 'It’s classless how everyone is rushing to release something for the 50th anniversary of this horrific event.'
The Haunting Of Sharon is out on 5th April.
