Normal People audition video
British Vogue have released Daisy Edgar Jones and Paul Mescal's audition video for Normal People.
It comes ahead of the release of the Normal People DVD, which includes audition footage and never-before-seen extras.
The casting session is dated March 2019.
It shows Paul and Daisy in character as Connell and Marianne, acting out lines from episode two of the hit show.
It's the scene where Connell takes Marianne to Sligo’s, 'Ghost House.'
The cast react
Daisy reacted to the video in an interview with Vogue.
She told them, 'It’s very strange watching this back – the day was a complete blur for me as I was so full of nerves.'
'I couldn’t really remember what happened in the room, so it’s really interesting to see that the dynamic between the characters was there so early on despite my terror.'
'It’s also funny to see Paul and I when we didn’t know each other as we’re now such close friends,' she added.
Paul gushed, 'I knew instantly she was going to be playing Marianne.'
'It just felt inevitable that we would be playing these characters together.'
Director Lenny Abrahamson chimed in, 'Watching this clip again, I’m struck by how much of what sang in the finished scenes is there already.'
'Daisy and Paul were so clearly right from the very beginning of the journey.'
