The trailer opens with Jenna Ortega's character texting her friend Amber.
Suddenly her phone starts ringing and Amber advises her to answer it.
There's only one problem here... how did Amber know the phone was ringing?
Amber responds, 'This isn't Amber.'
She answers the phone to a male voice asking, "Would you like to play a game Tara?"
Tara is greeted at her front door by a murderer wearing the iconic Scream mask.

He slashes her waist before she slams the door in his face and locks it.
The person in the mask appears out of the dark from behind her, hits her to the ground and drags her away.
The scene cuts to Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott out for a run.
She receives a phone call from David Arquette's Dewey, who tells her, "It's happening. Three attacks so far."
He asks, "Do you have a gun?"
"I'm Sidney Prescott, of course I have a gun," she retorts.

Sidney reunites with Courteney Cox's Gale Weathers to help take down the killer.
She tells a bunch of teenagers, "I've been through this. A lot."
"This is your life now, which means that whoever this is, is going to keep coming for you."
Sidney stands side by side with Gale and asks her, "You ready?" "For this? Never," she responds.
Terrifying sequences flash across the screen as the masked murderer continues to kill.
