Beyoncé will be releasing Black Is King in July
In a surprise announcement, Beyoncé and Disney+ have announced her new visual album coming to the platform.
Black Is King is written, directed and produced by Beyoncé and is inspired by The Lion King.
It's based off the movies accompanying album The Lion King: The Gift,.
Videos for My Power, Mood 4 Eva, and Brown Skin Girl will feature, as well as the album's featured artists and some special guest appearances,
Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment and Disney+ said 'This visual album from Beyoncé reimagines the lessons of "The Lion King" for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns.'
'The voyages of Black families, throughout time, are honored in a tale about a young king’s transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity.'

Taking to Instagram Beyoncé said this has been her 'passion project' for the last year.
'The events of 2020 have made the film’s vision and message even more relevant, as people across the world embark on a historic journey.'
Black is King is due to premiere globally on July 31st. This is just after the one year anniversary of The Lion King.
