Lola Young's hit single Messy has been dubbed the number one song of 2025 so far, according to the UK's Official Charts.
The 24-year-old from London released her hit song in June of last year and since then, it's been played thousands of times while also taking TikTok by storm.
Since 2025 began, the ADHD inspired track has racked up 597,000 chart units and 775,000 in total since its release.
Lola enjoyed success at the top of the charts as her song has sat in the number one spot for four consecutive weeks this year already.

Speaking about why she felt the song blew up, she told NME: “I think it’s the idea that you don’t have to be this thing that stereotypers want women to be.
"It’s not even just that though, because everyone can feel like they’re not enough for somebody. ‘I want to be me, is that not allowed?’ – that’s a great lyric! I’m very proud of it and it feels like it’s resonating with people on a wider scale [than I expected].
“I’m just taking it all in my stride and taking each day as it comes. I’m really proud of the song."

Following closely behind her at number two on the list is ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ bop APT.
Next comes Gracie Abrams’ That’s So True at number three, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' Die With A Smile at four and Chrystal's The Days at five.
Elsewhere, it was Sabrina Carpenter's Short 'N Sweet album that took home the award for most listened to album of 2025 so far.
