One thousand Valentine’s Day postcards will be delivered to ICU staff in Dublin tomorrow.
Young people from Clondalkin, Swords, Castleknock and Drumcondra have been creating homemade cards with personalised messages.
Lauralouise from The Localise Youth Volunteers says they hope their love letters will be a sign of gratitude to the frontline workers.
"We can’t express how thankful we are for the staff in our local hospitals, for their amazing work and the extra hours they have put in for all of us."
Meanwhile head of mission at the Matter Nuala King says the simple gesture can lift spirits in hospitals.
"It can never be underestimated the impact of small acts of kindness and we are delighted to be the recipients of this kind gesture.
The love notes will spread joy to staff in Tallaght Hospital, Beaumont, The Matter and James Connolly Hospital tomorrow.
