12 thousand pupils grades were reviewed
Only 18 Leaving Cert students have had their marks upgraded following an appeals process that saw more than 12 thousand pupils grades reviewed.
11 of those students were awarded a higher grade after appealing their calculated result, while 7 were brought up following quality assurance checks.
The Department of Education says over 33 thousand individual subject records were reviewed as part of the appeals process.
It says the low number of grade changes reflects the professionalism with which schools approached the calculated grading system.
