Several bombs explode in Sri Lanka
Around 140 people have reportedly died and more than 400 have been injured in six explosions in and around Sri Lanka's capital.
Churches and hotels were targeted on Easter Sunday in Colombo.
President Michael D. Higgins has sent his sympathy.
“As President of Ireland I am sure that people in Ireland will have heard with great concern of the heavy loss of life that has happened at places of worship in Sri Lanka, at a time of religious significance.
"To the families of those who died and those who have been injured I send the sympathies and solidarity of the people of Ireland.”
Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said he strongly condemns the 'cowardly attacks'.
The Irish Embassy in New Delhi in India says it is aware of the reports, and if consular assistance is required the embassy there can be contacted, as well as the Honorary Consulate in Columbo.
