The Government has confirmed that 25 people can attend funerals under level 5 restrictions.
Previously, concerns were raised after funerals were limited to 10 attendees while 25 wedding guests were allowed to attend weddings.
Defending the decision last night, Micheal Martin said there is fewer weddings left this year.
Adding that they didn't want to make things more complicated and that there could be multiple funerals on the same day in the same place.
This afternoon, however, Fianna Fail TD Barry Cowen confirmed the news that funerals can now have 25 guests present.
In a tweet, Deputy Cowen said "It’s a compassionate and welcome acknowledgement that this was address so quickly.
I’m informed presently that the cabinet have agreed with my suggestion that the number of attendees at a funeral has been increased from 10 to 25. It’s a compassionate and welcome acknowledgement that this was address so quickly pic.twitter.com/9Np83cwMRH
