The figures come from the Public Appointments Service.
The latest Garda recruitment campaign has seen a huge surge in applications.
Compared to the last drive in 2019, the latest one saw more than double the number of applicants.
11,075 people applied to join the Gardai this year, up from just over 5,000 the last time.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee had specifically encouraged applications from ethnic minorities and women.
According to figures from the Public Appointments Service, published in the Irish Examiner, they have responded.

40% of applications were from women and 23% from ethnicities other than Irish.
Asian applicants rose from 75 in 2019 to 388 and black applicants from 31 to 155.
There was also a slight increase in the number of applications from members of the travelling community.
10% of applicants didn't give details of their ethnicity.
