Adam Johnson has launched a fresh appeal against his conviction of engaging in sexual acts with a 15 year old girl.
The former England footballer was jailed after being found to have touched and groomed a teenage fan. He was eventually sentenced to six years in prison.
Last year, he launched an initial appeal which was turned down, leading to today's fresh application.
His sister, Faye Johnson tweeted: "Pleased that we now have a date for Adam's appeal against conviction and sentence. I hope that justice can finally be done for my brother."
