The five Garth Brooks gigs scheduled for Croke Park next year look set to go ahead.
As a residents meeting pledged to locals that the high number of gigs planned for next year will be an exception.
Whatever about anywhere else, one place Garth Brooks will want friends is Croke Park.
After the debacle of 2014, when the country music superstar had five concerts cancelled.
He’s now hoping to play the same number at the venue next year.
The Street Is Ruined After Them
A meeting of over 100 residents was told last night that all five gigs do look set to go ahead.
And some weren’t happy.
"I live over on the North Circular side, at the Davin Stand."
"The avenue's destroyed [by people using the] toilet."
"They're also having sex in my garden!"
Not All Locals Are Unhappy
But others think the shows will be a major boost for the area.
"I'd be for all concerts to happen in Croke Park for the good it brings to the area," one woman said.
"There's a lot of employment given, there's a lot of money spent in the area and sure don't we all need it," according to another woman.
Croke Park bosses have promised the seven concerts scheduled next year - two with Ed Sheeran in addition to the five with Brooks - are a one off for 2022, and won’t be repeated in future years.
