Important news for those late bloomers with their Christmas presents.
An Post has issued the final date for those wishing to receive or send presents before December 25th.
The last day for guaranteed Christmas delivery to Britain is December 20th, while within Ireland it's the 21st.
The postal service is issuing a plea to those sending letters and parcels to write the correct address.
30,000 letters and parcels go missing within the An Post network every year.
On behalf of all our customers who purchased Bród stamps, pins and FDC envelopes in 2021, we are delighted to donate over €33,000 to support the vital work of @LGBT_ie & @BeLonG_To in Ireland. Manager of the National Return Letter Centre Jim O'Sullivan is encouraging customers to also include a return to sender address.
"We have quite a lot of O'Connell Streets in Ireland, they are not all necessarily in Dublin," he said.
"We have one in Limerick, we have one in Ennis. They know in their mind that it's O'Connell Street where they want to send it to."
"But if they don't put it down to the letter it could be one of any of five or six O'Connell Streets in the country."
