The Irish battalion heading over for the Cheltenham racing festival has been hit with a massive blow.
Trainer Willie Mullins has confirmed that Annie Power will miss the festival due to a leg injury.
Mullins told The Racing Post: "Annie Power worked yesterday and worked well but I wasn't happy with her last night."
Mullins added that the injury to the 2016 Champion Hurdle winner was confirmed to him and his team this morning, and that it wasn't related to what had kept the mare off the track so far this season.
Annie Power was due to take part a mouth-watering battle with stablemate Faugheen in the feature race on the first day.
