Cabinteely pitches badly damaged
Two soccer pitches in Cabinteely have been badly damaged by a car, which was later burnt out.
The pitches at Kilboggett Park will need to be relayed after tyre tracks significantly damaged the surface.
A car was found in the middle of the pitch burnt out - causing more damage to the surface.
The post below, from one of our extraordinary Volunteers following the wanton destruction of pitches in Kilbogget Park on Friday night, shows the anger and frustration within the club. Park hosts a number of sports clubs
Kilboggett Park is home to a number of clubs - including Cabinteely FC, Cabinteely Men's GAA Club, Foxrock-Cabinteely GAA Club and Seapoint Rugby Club.
Meanwhile, Cabinteely FC says a number of local representatives in politics and businesses have offered their support.
In addition, there's concerns relaying works at the pitches could takes weeks - potentially even months.
@mitchelloconnor for her involvement at a difficult time for her. @Cabinteely_FC would like to send our sympathies to the Minister on the recent passing of her mother. RIP. We are seeking meetings with @dlrcc and the @GardaTraffic for an urgent restoration of the pitches and pic.twitter.com/91AyfaKoJ8

The response to the destruction of pitches in Kilbogget Park has been overwhelming. Very heartening. Hopefully some good will come from this. Thanks to other clubs for their messages of support and offers of help. Thanks also to the local Cllrs who got in touch and to Minister pic.twitter.com/Ad5pZBvQhr
