There are calls for M50 charges to be scrapped - after the motorway made 140 million euro in tolls last year.
Figures from Transport Minister, Eamon Ryan, show it's an increase of 16 million euro on 2020.
The country's busiest road has made more than 1.2 billion euro in tolls over the past decade.
🚗 Commuting on the M50 this morning? The Toll made €140 million last year according to new figures. That means the M50 has made over €1.2 BILLION in tolls over the past decade. @Toibin1 wants the government to make M50 journeys free, especially given the cost of living crisis.

Cost of Living Crisis
Aontu leader Peadar Toibín says the government should consider making journeys free.
"The citizens of this country have paid for that bridge over and over again.
"Hundreds of millions have been paid on an annual basis for that."
"It was bought for half a billion nearly two decades ago at this stage."
"The Government are looking to keep the toll going for at least another ten years."
"I think at this stage, in a cost of living crisis, commuters travelling long distances into the city centre need to be given a break."
