The figures come from the Central Bank of Ireland.
Total card spending, including ATM withdrawals, increased by €1.6 billion last month.
That's a 30 per cent increase in spending from February 2022 compared to February 2021.
Last year, Ireland was under a stringent lockdown and many retail outlets were closed.
In-store spending drove the annual increase in February but online spending also increased from last year.

Spending on groceries and electrical goods suffered a slight decrease in February.
However, the transport and accommodation sectors continue to record high surpluses.
Overall spending in February compared to January was marginally lower, with a 1 per cent decrease.
Irish spending outside of the country also increased by 10 per cent compared to January.
