All 73 Child and Adult Mental Health Services across the country are to have their operating procedures assessed.
It follows a damning review of services in south Kerry where 227 children were exposed to risky treatment,
and 46 were harmed significantly, after being prescribed inappropriate medication by a junior doctor.
HSE Chief Executive says Child and Adult Mental Health Services says while what happened is wrong and all CAMHS services are now being reviewed.
Paul Reid said he didn't 'want to undermine what happened, it was wrong by any assessment''.
However, he did want to assure the public that a whole suite of supports are available to the public notwithstanding CAMHS.
The supports for people within in the community need to be looked at according to Reid and they must ensure that they ''are strong''.
