The country's highest number of Covid-19 cases in nearly five months has been reported today.
There are 783 new cases - the highest since February 20th.
While there are 73 Covid patients in hospital, with 20 in intensive care.
Meanwhile, the Chief Medical Officer says it is safer for parents not to bring their children into indoor dining.
Later this month, children will be allowed to dine indoors.
So that's at a café, pub or restaurant, as long as they're with a fully vaccinated adult.
Came up several times at NPHET briefing - the burden placed on those in 20s and 30s still waiting on vaccines.
Can't travel internationally, dine indoors, etc.
Message is essentially sit tight - NPHET says all should be vaccinated by September, so wait is relatively short.— Paul O'Donoghue (@paulodonoghue93) July 14, 2021
CMO Says It's Safer For Kids Outdoors
Dr Tony Holohan says parents bringing their children along should instead stick to outdoor dining.
"Even though certain things are possible, children won't be vaccinated."
"There's no plan at the moment for us to start vaccinating children."
"For now, to parents of young children: It's safer not to bring your children to indoor dining, and other facilities."
"Even though these things might be possible."
"That would be the responsible public health advice."
"If you do need to, or wish to, go out with your children, outdoor dining is still possible."
