Construction site closed
Contact tracing and deep cleaning is under way at a Dublin construction site after a worker tested positive for Covid-19.
It's the second site that's had to close in the space of a week.
Tools have literally been downed at the TU Dublin east quad construction site.
Developer John Sisk and Son says it was notified yesterday afternoon that a worker had tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement, the firm says:
"The site has followed the specific advice of the HSE and the Health and Safety Authority at all times since the commencement of the COVID crisis.
"We are liaising with the HSE and the other relevant bodies in how we manage this particular incident.
"The health, safety and well-being of those who work with us and the communities in which we operate is our top priority.
"We are liaising directly with the staff member's employer, one of our sub-contractors, with regards to his welfare and well-being and we wish him a speedy recovery."
The site is closed today to facilitate a deep clean of all the facilities on site and the site itself.
SIPTU says the developer is co-operating well with it's requests for information.
