The Department of Health have reported a further 1,688 cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.
There has been an 18 percent increase in the number of people in hospital with Covid-19 in the space of 24 hours.
314 are receiving treatment as of this morning, an increase of 55 compared to the same period yesterday.
59 people are in ICU, up 5 over the same period.
HSE Chief Executive, Paul Reid, says the threat posed by the virus remains "very real".
