The Department of Health has confirmed 270 new cases of Covid-19.
16 people has died from the virus; there has now been 1,963 Covid-19 related deaths.
Of the cases notified today, 123 cases are men meanwhile 147 are women.
Most people - 56% - are aged under 45 years old, with the median age being 42.
Most cases, 82, are in Dublin.
Elsewhere, there are 21 cases of the virus in Donegal, 18 in Roscommon, 17 in Limerick and 17 in Tipperary.
Statement from the National Public Health Emergency Team
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 16 additional deaths related to COVID-19.
Of the deaths reported today, 14 occurred in November, 1 in October and 1 remains under investigation.

The remaining 115 cases are spread across 20 counties.
There have been 21 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.
In total, 282 Covid patients are being treated in hospital, 40 of whom are in intensive care.
The 14 Day incidence rate is estimated to be 151 per 100,00 population.
Incidence Rate Down By Over 50% In Two Weeks
While commenting on this evening's figures, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said there has been a "significant improvement" in the profile of the virus.
"The 14-day incidence of 152 cases per 100,000 is down by 51% compared to the previous two weeks."
Dr Holohan said to maintain the positive trajectory we must remain vigilant.
"Our individual everyday choices to stay at home and keep our contacts to a minimum are vital to driving down the spread of COVID-19," he concluded.
