The Department of Health has confirmed 4,004 new cases of Covid 19 this afternoon.
The number of people in hospital has continued to fall, with 481 being treated for the virus, down 30 on yesterday.
In a tweet today HSE boss Paul Reid urged people to take up a booster shot when it's offered.
This is in order to ease pressure on hospitals, which he said will be under real pressure this month and next.
In December & January we know our hospitals will be under real pressure with currently 481 #COVID19 patients & 113 in ICU.We can all help to make this better by taking up the booster vaccine when offered. This weekend many locations open for walk-ins for specified groups.@HSELive

Walk-in booster clinics are open across the country today, with many reporting wait times of over an hour. Many clinics will also be open tomorrow.
Earlier today, in Sligo Town, Nenagh in Co. Tipperary and Kilkenny City wait times of 90 minutes or more were reported.
People getting booster jabs in Cavan Town and Letterkenny in Co. Donegal faced short queues or none though.
The HSE has urged people to check waiting times at its social media channels before heading out to a clinic.
