The Department of Health has confirmed 499 new cases of Covid-19.
Eight further people have died from the virus.
In total, there has now been 1,940 Covid-19 related deaths.
Of the cases notified today, 244 cases are men meanwhile 249 are women.
Most people - 68% - are aged under 45 years old, with the median age being 32.
Most cases, 176 , are in Dublin.
There are 72 confirmed cases in Cork, 29 in Limerick, 26 in Mayo, 21 in Meath.

There has been a total of 1,940 #COVID19 related deaths in Ireland. Verification of data led to one death being denotified.

The remaining 176 cases are spread across 19 other counties.
25 Additional Hospitalisations In The Last 24 Hours
Meanwhile, have been 24 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.
In total, 292 Covid patients are being treated in hospital, 37 of whom are in intensive care.
The 14 Day incidence rate is estimated to be 196.4 per 100,00 population.
