The Department of Health has confirmed 591 new cases of Covid-19.
Three further people have died from the virus; there has now been 1993 Covid-19 related deaths.
Of the cases notified today, 280 cases are men meanwhile 310 are women.
Most people - 59% - are aged under 45 years old, with the median age being 38.
Most cases, 120 , are in Dublin.
There are 75 cases of the virus in Donegal, 50 in Cork, 46 in Kerry and 44 in Limerick.
The remaining 256 are spread across 20 other counties.
There have been 20 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.
In total, 302 Covid patients are being treated in hospital, 38 of whom are in intensive care.
The 14 Day incidence rate is estimated to be 202.1 per 100,00 population.

CMO Praises For Young People's Effort To Suppress Covid-19
While commenting on this evening's figures, the Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said Ireland's incidence rate is reducing.
"Ireland and Finland are the only European countries in the EU where reductions in 14 day incidence has been observed."
"All other countries are increasing," he said.
Dr Holohan said despite the positive change, this is no time to be complacent.
"We must keep driving down the disease - we must keep going."
He praised the efforts of young people in particular.
The incidence rate between 19 to 24 year olds is down from 450 to 100,000 to 150 per 100,000.
