The Department of Health have confirmed 720 new cases of Covid-19 and five additional deaths.
Of the cases notified today, 371 were women while 348 were men.
Most patients - 65% - are under the age of 45, with 32 being the median age.
Dublin is home to the highest number of cases with 228 in the capital.
Meanwhile there are 130 cases in Cork, 47 in Galway, 31 in Meath, 27 in Limerick while the remaining 257 cases are distributed throughout 20 other counties.
Dr Tony Holohan says there's been a reduction in the five-day moving average. He says it's too early to consider it being a trend.
Not at the stage when we can conclude we're heading in the right direction.
