The HSE's new Contact Tracing App has detected its first cases on Covid-19
Dr Nuala O'Connor, clinical lead on COVID-19 with the Irish College of General Practitioners, says the app is already working and picking up cases.
Since it launched last Tuesday, over 1 million people have signed up, with health officials praising the public's response to the app.
Users are asked to check in if they have any symptoms, and will be notified if they come into close contact with a confirmed case.
People are also being encouraged to register with a GP, which is free to do.
