Ireland has reached a grave milestone, as the total number of deaths relating to Covid-19 surpassed 4,000.
This evening, the Department of Health confirmed 57 additional deaths.

Since the pandemic hit almost a year ago, 4,032 people have lost their lives as a result of the virus.
34 of the deaths reported today occurred this month, 21 in January, 1 in December and 1 in February.
The median age of those who died was 83 years old with the age range between 52 and 99.
As of Midnight this morning, there have been 650 confirmed new cases of the virus.
325 of today's cases are identified in men while 323 are in women.

Most people -65% - are under 45 years of age.
The median age is 37 years old.
Most of today's cases were identified in Dublin, where there are 192 new cases.
Elsewhere, there are 53 cases in Galway, 50 in Meath, 46 in Kildare and 46 in Meath.
The remaining 263 cases are spread across all other counties.
Meanwhile, there have been 49 additional hospitalisations in the past twenty-four hours.
In total, there are 831 Covid-19 patients in hospitals - 154 of whom are in intensive care.
The 14 Day incident rate to February 16th is 261.7 per 100,000 population.
As of Monday 91,750 people have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
180,192 people have got their first instalment of the jab.
