Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision.
A cyclist has died following an incident on Patrick's Street at around 12:45am on Friday morning.
He was removed by ambulance to St James' Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car was not injured.
A Garda investigation has begun into the crash and the scene of the incident was closed to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
The road at the scene has now re-opened to traffic.
