Many streets in Dublin were pedestrianised to allow for outdoor dining.
Dublin City Council has backtracked on their stance on Parliament Street and Capel Street.
Originally, they had said on social media that their trial of the traffic free streets was ending.
This sparked a lot of anger and confusion within those online.
It’s unbelievable how vibrant Capel Street looks now on weekend evenings thanks to the pedestrianization. A big thanks to @DubCityCouncil and all councilors involved @RayMcAdam. It seems to have been a great success and hopefully it can be continued into the future #CapelStreet https://t.co/v88PBIdBRw

Now, a Green Party Councillor is saying the council are willing to extend it again.
Councillor for the South West Inner City, Michael Pidgeon, says it should continue in the short term.
He says that plans for a longer extension to pedestrianise the streets should be drawn up.
