It's emerged Dolly Parton helped fund the research team behind the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine.
The country star paid one million dollars to the Vanderbilt University Medical Centre in Tennessee to go towards clinical research of the virus.
The donation was paid in April, in honour of her long-time friend Dr Naji Abrumrad.

In an Instagram post that month, the star said Dr Abrumrad "informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus cute."
In the footnotes of the New England Journal of Medicine's announcement about the Moderna vaccine results, "The Dolly Parton Covid-19 Research Fund" can be seen.
Dolly Parton Has Been A Long-Term Philanthropist
Meanwhile, the 'Jolene' singer has backed several initiative over the last sixty years.
In 1995, she launched the "Imagination Library" which posted free books to American children, in an effort to promote reading.
While in 2016 Ms Parton donated $1000 dollars a month to each family who were left homeless following a fire in Tennessee.
