At 10.30 this morning the number 4 bus travelling towards the city centre along Northumberland Road crashed into a large branch, smashing the windows of both decks and doing considerable damage to the bumper.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the driver was taken to hospital.
Dublin City Council workers and Dublin Bus inspectors were on sight to clear the road of the tree debris and remove a large branch from under the vehicle so it could be towed from the scene.
Just what I needed enroute a hospital visit. Bus I was riding in suddenly goes off road, rams into a tree, onto the pavement. Senior citizens & babies on board. Thankfully most looked unhurt but scary morning to say the least. Still shook up! @DubCityCouncil @dublinbusnews pic.twitter.com/trtOBho8wd
