A hostage situation where a man was keeping his partner in a house in Dublin 18 has come to an end.
A number of units from the Gardai, including the Armed Response Unit, an ambulance and a Defence Forces EOD team were called to the scene in a Ballyogan Green at around 11:20am.
The woman in her 30s ran safe from the house a short time after Gardai arrived at the scene, but the man stayed inside.
At around 3:30pm, the man in his 40s emerged from the house and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A replica firearm was recovered at the house, and investigations are ongoing.
