A new study has found one in four children in Dublin don't get enough vitamin D.
Vitamin D is vital for the rapid bone growth and comes mainly from direct sunlight on the skin or nutrient rich food.
The report from Trinity College found teenage girls showed higher levels of deficiency while one in three kids in disadvantaged areas were found to be vitamin D deficient.
Researchers are warning failure to maintain adequate levels of the vitamin can result in osteoporosis in later life.
