Edible cannabis
There's a warning young people are being introduced to drugs through edible cannabis.
Consuming chocolate and jellies laced with the drug is becoming a new trend across the country.
Recently Gardai have seized colourful packets of the products, which appear similar to standard sweets.
Gardaí in Portlaoise recovered in excess of €15,000 (subject to analysis) worth of cannabis edibles. These products contain THC which is the psychoactive constituent of cannabis.

Professor Colin O'Gara from St John of Gods Hospital, says teenagers can be led to believe these are less harmful.
He also says the marketing behind edible cannabis is similar to that of ecstasy.
