Taoiseach Enda Kenny is stepping down as party leader from midnight tonight.
He has taken to Twitter to reveal his decision, and he has confirmed that he will continue to carry out his duties as Taoiseach in full.

A new leader for the Fine Gael party will be in place by the close of business on June 2nd.
Simon Coveney and Leo Varadkar are the two leading candidates that are tipped to replace him.
