EP Washout 2022: Status Orange Rainfall Warning Issued for Sunday

Met Éireann has updated it's weekend weather warnings to yellow AND ORANGE for Sunday.

The yellow alert for 'all of Ireland' is valid from 1am tomorrow - while the orange warning will sweep vertically down the country from 4am.

The intense rainfall will affect 13 counties, including the home of Electric Picnic.

Where it started to rain on festival goers in Stradbally in Laois from midnight last night, and continued today.

 

Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather outlines what's ahead:

"So the status yellow warning has now been updated to a status orange warning."

He says it includes Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Waterford.

Alan's warned of "local intense rainfall of up to 50mm and possible squalls likely, which will also involve some strong gusts."
