Dublin City Council is to provide portable loos and additional bins in the city centre from this weekend.
The local authority was criticised for not providing facilities for the large crowds that gathered in the city centre last weekend.
Also I know this is an unpopular opinion but can I say a big thank you to @DubCityCouncil and all it's staff. They do try and work very hard. And they get a lot of grief from us all (including me) and I wanted to just say thanks for listening.

150 Portable Loos & Over 100 Bins
It's going to install 150 portable loos, 54 dumpsters and 80 barrel bins around the city centre from this weekend.
The Council's also putting a specific focus on high footfall areas.
The lack of public toilets and overflowing bins led to littering and public peeing in parts of the city last weekend
Lord Mayor Hazel Chu says they have to facilitate people visiting the city.
That's despite some other concerns that more people could be tempted to drop in.
"We need to make sure people can socialise safely, and we need to provide facilities for that as well."
"If there weren't people coming in either way, then I'd say well yeah that argument holds weight."
"But right now they are coming in."
"We are also encouraging people to come in to support local businesses.
She adds, "We want them to come into the City, so we have to provide facilities for them."
📢 We will be installing 150 Portaloo toilets, 54 large Eurobins & extra Barrel Bins across the city from this weekend with a specific focus on high footfall areas in the City Centre. Locations below⤵️#Dublin #YourCouncil #wastemanagement #ToiletsInTheCity pic.twitter.com/TgekuSp9Zr

Porta-Pee Time Is Between 10am And 11pm
The Portaloos will be open from 10am to 11pm.
Local Cllr Colm O'Rourke says it's welcome that the opening hours are so wide ranging:
"There has been public toilets in place in the city, but the problem's been that they closed early in the evening."
"That hasn't catered for people who might be socialising in the evening."
"So this is great news because it'll allow people to meet up with friends who may need the toilets later on in the night, not just in the daytime."
If nature calls on the Northside you'll find the public toilets at:
- Wolfetone Sq
- O’Connell Street
- Smithfield, along the Royal Canal
- Mountjoy Square
- Diamond Park.
If you're on the southside, the loos will be located on:
- Sycamore St
- Temple Bar Square
- Chatham Row
- Sth King Street
- Coppinger Row
- Dame Court
- Dame Lane
- Merrion Square.
