Five people, including a seven year old boy, have died on Irish roads today.
Two tourists from the US were killed in a car crash in County Cork. The three vehicle collision happened on the Mallow Road at around 11 o'clock this morning. The man and woman were both in their 60s and were travelling with their partners.
A number of other people were injured and are being treated in hospital.
Elsewhere in County Mayo, three people including a child were killed on the N17 Galway to Sligo Road at Claremorris at around 12:30pm.
The two women, aged in their 70s and 40s, and the seven year old boy died after the car they were traveling in collided with a truck. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
Diversions are in place and Gardaí are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
