Brail has announced three days of mourning following the death of football legend Pele.
The 82-year-old had been in hospital in Sao Paulo since late November battling colon cancer.
He died at 3.27pm local time yesterday.
He's the only man to have ever won the World Cup three times - in 1958, 1962 and 1970.
Edson Arantes do Nascimento, commonly known as Pele, burst on to the global scene as a 17-year-old at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, and scored over a thousand goals in his career.
He played his club football for Santos in Brazil and for the New York Cosmos.
Tributes to the Brazilian hero have poured in from across the world.
In a post on Instagram, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said Pele will never be forgotten.
"We never lost him," he said.
"He's forever with us. He's forever with everyone who loves football."
Current Brazil striker Neymar has said: "Before Pele, 10 was just a number.
"Before Pele, football was just a sport.
He added: "Pele has changed it all."
Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo paid his respects on Instagram.
In a post featuring a picture of him with the Brazil great, he wrote: "A mere 'goodbye' to the eternal King Pele will never be enough to express the pain that currently embraces the entire world of football.
"An inspiration for so many millions, a reference from yesterday, today, forever. The affection he always showed for me was reciprocal in every moment we shared, even from a distance.
"He will never be forgotten and his memory will live on forever in each of us football lovers. Rest in peace, King Pele."
President Michael D Higgins has offered his sympathies, describing Pele as someone who will "continue to inspire" people for generations to come.
