The assault, which took place in Today FM’s sound garden between the hours of 10 pm and 12 AM, on Friday night, has Gardaí appealing for witnesses for anyone who may have seen or have footage of the incident.
The man was rushed to Tullamore hospital, Co. Offaly in the early hours of Saturday morning but was later transferred to St. James’ Hospital in Dublin for further treatment.
The injuries are not life-threatening but very serious according to the Gardaí.
A spokesman said: “Gardaí in Portlaoise are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with footage of this incident to make it available to them.
