Genomics Medicine Ireland is to create 600 new jobs in Dublin.
The news of the positions follow a €350 million euro investment into the company
The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund along with other leading global investors have announced details of the investment programme.
It aims to make Ireland an important hub for the study of genes with a view to identifying, preventing and treating both rare and common diseases.
The funding will allow GMI to undertake one of the largest genome sequencing programmes, with one in ten people in Ireland taking part.
The study, of over 400 thousand volunteers with a range of common and rare diseases, aims to research and discover new medicines for the treatment of life-limiting conditions which currently have no cure.
The 600 high-quality jobs will be filled over the next five years.
