Figures from a new study are not kind to those living in Ireland.
Recent studies have shown that Ireland is very expensive to go on a night out.
The cost of staying in a hotel or eating in a restaurant is 40% higher than the EU average.
The research was carried out by Eurostat, and also revealed some more daunting figures.
In terms of housing, Ireland is the most expensive EU country of them all.
Ireland is an astonishingly expensive place. Housing costs there are the highest in the EU at 77.7% above the average.
It’s also, for example, the 4th most expensive place in EU to holiday or dine out in. https://t.co/23Yq9tyrsh— Ben Tower (@bentower1) July 27, 2021
In terms of day-to-day expenses, Irish people pay the most for cigarettes and alcohol in the EU.
Items such as shoes and clothing are priced at around the European average over here.
Finally, our wages come in at the second highest in the EU overall.
