Tallying is continuing across the country as votes are sorted ahead of counting in the local and European elections.
The Green Party looks set to top the polls in Dublin's North Inner City. Councillor Ciaran Cuffe has 16 per cent of the vote according to the latest tallies, but he looks set to take the European seat first.
Lord Mayor Nial Ring is on just 7 per cent - however boxes from his local area are yet to be opened.
On the southside, the Greens could be on course to pull a quarter of the vote.
They're on as much as 27 per cent in the Pembroke area, second to Fine Gael on 37 per cent.
Exit polling suggests the surge is being driven by younger voters, with 42% of those aged 18-24 saying they had voted Green.
