Most Luas services finish by half past twelve.
A commuter group is calling for the Luas service to be extended at night.
The Dublin Commuter Coalition believe even an extra hour or two of services would help.
It comes as the government is considering adding more 24-hour bus routes in response to nighttime transport problems.
Many have complained about a shortage of taxis and lack of public transport services getting home at night.

Feljin Jose from the Dublin Commuter Coalition says running the Luas later should be a priority.
"I think it would have a huge impact," he said. "Most of the kind of late-night demand is up until 1 or 2am."
"Extending services beyond the normal operating hours, on weekends especially, would have a huge benefit."
The government is also going to look at encouraging the hiring of more taxi drivers to combat transport problems.
